GOVERNMENT & PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION TOOLKIT


Government and Public Administration encompasses a variety careers in municipal, state and federal government involving public leadership and service, policy making, military and defense, foreign diplomacy, urban, suburban or rural planning and regulation. Learners in this field will demonstrate a strong interest in history, political science and social studies.

The purpose of this Toolkit is to provide teachers and administrators current resources, tools, strategies and curricula to enhance New Jersey CTE programs in the Government and Public Administration Career Cluster.

Cluster Knowledge and Skills Statements
Nationally developed statements outlining academic standards for secondary students, knowledge and skills applicable to careers in this cluster, and example products or activities that may indicate proficiency.

New Jersey Core Curriculum Standard 9.4
Standard 9.4 describes knowledge and skills that prepare students for postsecondary education, training and employment in a chosen career pathway and applies only to high school students enrolled in career and technical education programs.

Nationally developed Program of Study recommending a sequence of coursework for learners on this career path. It is intended to serve as a guide for States and Institutions to customize based on regional standards and graduation requirements.
