Robert J. Genovese has been a member of the New Jersey and Florida Bar since 1998.
With over eleven years experience as an Attorney with extensive experience in general practice, personal and commercial
litigation, real estate, residential and commercial lease and contract drafting and negotiations, commercial transactions and
estate administration, Mr. Genovese has a proven track-record of success in high-pressure environments.
Robert completed his undergraduate work at Seton Hall University, earning Dean's List honors and was a member of the
Phi Delta Phi Political Science Fraternity.
He completed his legal education at St.Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, again landing on the Dean's
List and graduating in the top 25% of his class. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, a Student Bar
Association Senator and the Student Director of the Summer in Spain Program.
After a very successful academic career, he began his professional career as an Associate at John N. Giorgi, P.C. in Union,
New Jersey, where he managed a caseload of approximately 120 personal injury and litigation cases and PIP arbitration files,
handled all commercial and residential real estate matters, drafted commercial and residential leasing agreements and other
legal research for depositions, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and other court related proceedings.
From there, Robert moved his talents to Hehl & Hehl, also in Union. In addition to continued work in general litigation, real
estate, land use and general practice, he also concentrated on commercial litigation and transactions and estate
administration and collections. He also handled litigation on large environmental clean up projects and drafted corporate
documents, pleadings, motions and briefs, and public offering statements for large condominium projects. In addition, he
presented land use cases throughout Union County before various local planning and zoning boards and handled both
commercial and residential tax appeals before various county tax boards and before the tax court.
Presently, Mr. Genovese heads up his own law firm. In addition to Personal Injury, Municipal, Criminal and Family Law, and
Wills and Estate matters, he specializes in Real Estate Law. His area of expertise includes, but is not limited to, commercial
and residential leases, purchase and sale of real estate and refinancing of single-family homes, condominiums and co-ops.
He is currently active in the community as President and General Counsel of the Girls and Boys Club of Union County. He also
served on the Planning Board for the Township of Green Brook from 2005 thru 2007 and is an Advisory Board Member of Union
Center National Bank, Union New Jersey.
